Summer Rolls

by Tuyen Do

A vivid picture of a British Vietnamese family making a life for themselves in a new country focusing on how psychological wounds can be passed down through the generations.

Summer Rolls is written by critically-acclaimed writer and actor Tuyen Do (National Theatre’s The Great Wave), the first British Vietnamese play to be staged in the United Kingdom, premiered at Park Theatre and toured at Bristol Old Vic.

★★★★ The Stage “A beautiful, honest, heartfelt portrayal of the British Vietnamese diaspora”
★★★★ The Upcoming “Summer Rolls is fresh, dynamic play”
★★★★ My Theatre Mates “An impressive debut” “Do’s writing is fresh” Lyn Gardner, Stagedoor

Tuyet was the producer and worked closely with the writer in sourcing the funding for the project. With successful funding from the Arts Council of England and private sponsors, Summer Rolls premiered at Park Theatre London and toured at Bristol Old Vic. This was Tuyet’s first independent Theatre Production after leaving the National Theatre’s Immersive Storytelling Studio which had a sell out success.
